SNHU's dedicated FNP and licensure materials include Colorado, but the current general MSN admissions page omits it from the shorter accepting-state list. That conflict is too important to interpret through a sales page or an interested clinician. Ask Admissions for written confirmation tied to the student's state of domicile, catalog, start term, and proposed practicum state. A clinical site across a state line does not automatically change the rule attached to domicile.

Pause FNP outreach until the answer is clear. A Denver practice that is ready to host a student cannot correct an admissions limitation after schedules and paperwork are underway. The conflict does not block all SNHU nursing study in Colorado. Nursing Education, Population Healthcare, Healthcare Quality & Safety, Nurse Executive Leadership, and RN-to-BSN remain available, with course-specific review of the site, activities, and supervisor.

AANP classifies Colorado as a Full Practice environment. A properly licensed Colorado nurse practitioner may evaluate patients, diagnose, order and interpret tests, manage treatment, and prescribe under the state's licensure authority. That professional scope can shape what a preceptor does during an ordinary clinic day, but it does not extend independent authority to an SNHU student.

SNHU publishes at least 750 practicum hours under preceptors across five FNP practicum courses. The sequence is built around primary care across the lifespan, and FNP applicants must identify one potential preceptor. Work from the published total and the student's current plan. Public course descriptions do not support a reliable per-course sum, so a Colorado capacity request should not create one.

Each of SNHU's four non-NP MSN specializations publishes 135 practicum hours in its final course. Nursing Education divides its work between clinical and academic settings. Primary care outreach belongs with practices that serve the needed age range. Education, quality, population health, and leadership practica may fit departments that rarely appear in a clinical preceptor directory, so identify who owns the relevant work inside the organization.

FNP includes an in-person New Hampshire immersion through NUR 600 before the practicum sequence. The public descriptions do not agree on an exact duration, so Colorado students should plan for required travel without publishing a day count. This milestone is separate from the local 750-hour practicum plan and remains required even though other coursework is delivered online.

For a proposed Colorado site, collect the physical address, department, authorized contact, supervisor credentials, dates, schedule, and patient or project population. SNHU identifies possible requirements such as background checks, license verification, immunizations, drug screening, and professional liability coverage. FNP students carry individual malpractice insurance during practicum courses and provide proof at least two terms before clinical components. Start site and compliance work early enough to handle corrections.
