SNHU's current FNP disclosures omit Arkansas. A primary care clinician's willingness to supervise does not alter that admission status, so Arkansas residents should not reserve dates or request extensive paperwork for FNP without new written SNHU direction. The response should address the student's residence, academic plan, and proposed state for clinical activity.

The non-FNP pathways remain open in Arkansas. Nursing Education, Population Healthcare, Healthcare Quality & Safety, Nurse Executive Leadership, and RN-to-BSN each have distinct experience goals. Confirm the exact course before building a list. A hospital may contain several possible practicum settings, but the appropriate contact could be in education, quality, community programs, or administration rather than a patient care unit.

AANP categorizes Arkansas as a Reduced Practice state. State law limits at least one element of NP practice and requires a regulated collaborative arrangement for part of patient care or practice. This structure affects the professional setting where an NP preceptor works. It does not grant an SNHU student independent clinical authority.

Use the Arkansas State Board of Nursing as the official licensing source. Search the proposed supervisor's legal name and review the active credential, role, population focus, and any public limitations. Then examine educational fit. The candidate needs appropriate preparation, relevant current work, organization support, enough supervision time, and access to the activities specified by the course.

Little Rock and North Little Rock offer the broadest mix of health systems, ambulatory groups, community organizations, academic settings, and leadership departments. Northwest Arkansas creates a separate corridor through Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville. Fort Smith, Jonesboro, Hot Springs, Texarkana, and Pine Bluff add regional possibilities for students who cannot make a central Arkansas schedule work.

Travel should be judged over a full term. Compare the weekly route, shift length, work commitments, start time, and onboarding appointments before treating a lead as practical. A short outreach brief should name the SNHU track, course, term, required work, expected availability, setting type, and travel boundary. It gives Arkansas organizations enough detail to route the request correctly.

SNHU states that FNP includes at least 750 practicum hours under preceptors across five courses, focused on primary care across the lifespan. Applicants identify one potential preceptor. Arkansas's current admission status means those facts should not be converted into a placement request unless SNHU supplies updated written approval for the student's circumstances. Avoid building a per-course total from inconsistent public descriptions.

Each non-NP MSN specialization publishes 135 practicum hours in the final course. Nursing Education includes clinical and academic settings. RN-to-BSN uses community clinical practice experiences with a qualified mentor, although SNHU publishes no universal hour figure for Arkansas students. SNHU has no DNP program and no NP specialty other than FNP, so program labels must remain exact during outreach.

FNP includes an in-person New Hampshire immersion through NUR 600 before practicum. Current public descriptions do not provide a consistent duration, so students should obtain dates and travel instructions directly from SNHU. The immersion would be separate from an Arkansas physical clinical site and would remain part of the schedule even when other coursework is online.

The proposed site file should identify the street address, department, authorized contact, supervisor credentials, dates, weekly schedule, and patient or project population. SNHU notes possible requirements such as background checks, license verification, immunizations, drug screening, and professional liability coverage. FNP students hold individual malpractice insurance during practicum courses and submit proof at least two terms before clinical components.
